Gary E. Southworth

Attorney at Law and
Proctor in Admiralty

Gary E. Southworth has practiced law in Florida since his admission by the Supreme Court of Florida in 1971.

Mr. Southworth graduated from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in 1971, and has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States since 1975. He is also licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

During his legal career of 36 years, Mr. Southworth has dedicated some of his time to public service. He was Legal Advisor to the Police Departments for Cities of Hollywood and Pembroke Pines, Florida, an officer in the United States Army, and was elected Vice Mayor of the City of Hollywood, Florida from 1973 through 1978.

Mr. Southworth's practice focuses on several areas. He represents victims of accidents and defective products who have sustained serious injury, or as a result thereof have suffered the death of a family member. He also represents seaman and maritime workers injured offshore on vessels and rigs. He offers counseling in small business planning, venture capital acquisition, partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations, commercial property management and franchise law.

In response to the general business climate, an increasingly frivolous litigious society, and the needs of his clients to protect wealth, Mr. Southworth assists clients in setting up asset protection plans. Associations that he has developed over the years with experienced lawyers, banks, trust companies and licensed corporate service providers in Switzerland, Britain and Luxembourg, allow him to offer clients a wide range of plans for wealth protection, confidentiality, and estate planning.
